Chapter 6. Generating user application
HTML
Generating HTML from data model records stored in your Information Management for z/OS
database is a task you will need to perform many times. For the most part, any time you
modify a data view record, you will have to regenerate the HTML associated with it. First, you
create your data attribute and data view records, including your tables, groups, and panel
layouts, using 3270 access to Information Management. If you use static PIDTs, you should
next run BLGUT18 to rebuild them. Then, using the Web Administration page, you generate
the HTML to display, print, update, create, and search for records defined by those data
views. After you generate a particular HTML mode for a record, you can save the choices you
made into an Auto Build file that you can then use to repeat the generation of the HTML as
often as you need. If you make new choices or add additional data views to support more
record types, you can add or replace entries in the Auto Build file. You may find it helpful to
have more than one Auto Build file. You can have as many of these files as you want and
switch between them by updating and reloading the configuration file.
