Next add the chosen Journal 2 volume as shown in Figure 5-146 and then click the Next
button.

TPC for Replication will then perform the volume matching as shown in Figure 5-147.

Validated your volume selections and click the Next button to continue.

TPC for Replication will now add the copy sets as shown in Figure 5-150. Then click the
Finish button when ready. This will close the window and return you to the session details
window.

You can now start your session as Figure 5-151 shows. In this case and because this is a
Failover / Failback session type we select Start H1-H2 from the drop-down menu and then
click Go.

Figure 5-152 on page 182 displays the result once the session is started. We see that the
state is
Prepared and the status is Normal.

Once the session is started we can check on exposure and on the level of synchronization of
the session.

In Figure 5-154 on page 183 we break out the information contained in the panel. This shows:

򐂰 The time difference between the source and target volumes in the copy set.
򐂰 The requested consistency time interval.
򐂰 The number of consistency groups created successfully.
򐂰 The number of consistency groups which failed to be created.

To change any session settings select the View/Modify Properties action. To do this select
the View/Modify Properties command from the drop-down menu and click the Go button as
shown in Figure 5-155.

Figure 5-156 on page 184 shows what can be altered within the Properties panel. This
includes the Consistency Group Interval which is the time between consistency group
creation. A value of zero tells the storage subsystem to continuously create consistency
groups.
