WAS-ND Administrative Runtime
In WAS V5, there is a name service, transaction service, security service, and JMX administrative server in each application server. This insulates application servers and the applications running in them from WAS administrative process failures. The result is that application servers and the applications running on them will continue to run uninterrupted in the event of an administrative process failure. The preceding point is a key difference between WAS V5 and prior versions of WebSphere Application Server, and it's an important point to consider when determining how and what you make highly available in your WAS-ND cell.
