Chapter 4. Deploying IBM Workplace
Collaboration Services
(Microsoft Windows)
This chapter discusses the installation of IBM Workplace Collaboration Services
in a two-tier environment. A two-tier environment is one in which the Workplace
Collaboration Services components and the HTTP server are installed on one
machine and the RDBMS is installed on a remote machine. In this deployment
scenario, the LDAP server can be on different machine, or it can be installed (in a
demo or pilot deployment) on the RDBMS machine. For production deployments,
the LDAP server should be installed on a separate machine.
The two-tier deployment process includes the following steps:
1. Installing IBM Workplace Collaboration Services
2. Configuring Workplace Collaboration Services security:
a. Disabling the default Workplace Collaboration Services security using the
Configuration Wizard
b. Enabling Workplace Collaboration Services security with an external
LDAP server using the Configuration Wizard
