RESPECT

Respect for ideas, for needs, for the whole self, is where it all starts. For the human being, the productive artist, the jazz singer, the heart surgeon, the architect, or the creative scientist, respect is what creates the space that allows conception and invention to flow. Respect is expressed by the leader in multiple ways. It is in the everyday exchange, in the interest in stopping by their offices and inquiring about their lives, in understanding their worries, concerns, and needs. But, most significantly, respect is expressed by understanding their call for space and independence.
