On the next level, expectations are a two-way street. In the same manner that you, as leader, expect from your group, you in turn entitle them to expect from you. It is not for team members alone to make things happen, to make superior things happen; they must be able to count on you as leader. Our role as leaders is to go to bat for them, to play PR agent for them, to protect them, to get them resources. In the spirit of trust and mutual respect, it is only natural that team members be entitled to have the same high expectations of their leader, to see in leaders the spirit of high performance, with the same courage and passion as is expected of them.
