Getting Media into and out of iTunes

In the last chapter, I introduced you to two important navigations tools: the iTunes sidebar and the four different views available. In this chapter, I will explain how to get your media into iTunes and organize it, and then how to get media from iTunes onto a CD or iOS device.

Getting Media onto iTunes

Let's start with getting media into iTunes. There are several ways of doing this:

1. Purchase songs or videos from the iTunes store. I briefly covered this in the last chapter.
2. Import songs from a CD. Note that this could take some time if you have a lot of CDs.
3. Import media from other iLife apps, such as songs from GarageBand or movies from iMovie.
