Aries is an inconspicuous constellation, but its position west of the Pleiades in Taurus, and south of Triangulum, makes it easy to locate. Aries is a medium-size constellation, ranking 39th of the 88 constellations. It covers 441 square degrees of the celestial sphere, or about 1.1%. Aries is an ancient constellation, well-known to the Greeks and Romans of antiquity.
