Equipment and Materials

You’ll need the following items to complete this lab session. (The standard kit for this book, available from http://www.thehomescientist.com, includes the items listed in the first group.)

  • Goggles

  • Forceps

  • Magnifier

  • Slides, flat

Materials you Provide

  • Gloves

  • Camera with microscope adapter (optional)

  • Desk lamp, booklight or other top illuminator

  • Marking pen

  • Microscope

  • Pie pans, disposable aluminum

  • Scissors

  • Tape, masking

  • Specimens, screwdrivers (see text)

  • Specimens, cutting pliers (see text)

Warning

None of the activities in this lab session present any serious hazard. The cut edges of aluminum sheets may be razor sharp, so use care when handling them.
