Types of Navigation
Most normal Windows programs start by showing the user a single main window. The user can then click buttons on the window or select menu items, and the program opens additional windows, which present the user with additional options or data.
In contrast to a standard Windows application, a web browser offers a very different paradigm for navigating an application. The major differences are the following:
A web browser presents only a single page at a time.
A web browser offers Back and Forward buttons and hyperlinks to navigate from site to site or between pages within a site.
