Chapter 31. Export

In this chapter, you’ll learn how to save files in various formats for export to other applications: the EPS format for layout and drawing applications; the PDF format for a variety of output media; the Flash (swf), GIF, and JPEG formats for the Web; and the PSD format for Adobe Photoshop.

To export artwork that contains transparency and any of the “live” features to InDesign CS2 or CS3, stick with the native Illustrator CS3 format (ai). This format includes both an Illustrator and a PDF version of the file and preserves transparency and “live” features.
