6.3.2.1Fusion by Combining the HSI Transform and Wavelet Transform

The characteristic of the HSI transform fusion image is the enriched high-frequency information and the loss of spectrum information. The wavelet-transformed fusion image keeps the spectrum information from multispectrum information well but shows some block effects as some low-frequency parts of a high definition image have been thrown away. One fusion method for combining HSI transforms and wavelet transform has the following steps:

(1)Select three bands (e. g., TM3, TM4, TM5) from ft(x, y), and perform the transform from the RGB space to the HSI space.

(2)Perform a wavelet-transform for both fs(x, y) and its I component.
