Previsualization is the act of visualizing an entire scene for a photograph or set of photographs prior to creating them. It begins in the mind and is then developed through drawn sketches, or a computer, to facilitate the planning and conceptualization of the image(s).

“Picture” the image in advance to give yourself a clear idea of what you want to accomplish. You can also experiment with different visual options in your head, such as set elements, location, styling, model, props, lighting, and camera angle, without having to incur the costs of actual production.
