The following are some common best practices to keep in mind before, during, and after any shoot.
Communicate all the details of the shoot in an organized manner. This is where sharing the production sheets and call sheets with the team becomes very helpful. While shooting, be sure to have easy access to copies of mood boards, production sheets, call sheets, shot lists, etc., so you can check in with those documents periodically.
Make sure all your paperwork is in order, from permits to releases. For example, if a model release is needed, send it in advance to the model or agency. If that’s not possible, have all the releases signed upon arrival and prior to any shooting.
