Chapter 16. Exporting Movies
Publishing your movies online isn’t the only method of sharing them. iMovie can export them to various formats on your hard disk for use in other applications, or to give you more control over the movies’ quality. It does this through Apple’s QuickTime technology.
On the surface, QuickTime is a great little utility for playing movies on your Mac. I often visit www.apple.com/trailers/ to see which new movie trailer is ready for download—I click a link, and in a couple of minutes the clip is playing. (It’s amazing what you can learn about filmmaking from trailers, by the way; they’re some of the best sources for how to present ideas and images in a short time span.)
