17Exporting Movies

Publishing your movies online isn’t the only method of sharing them. iMovie can export them to various formats on your hard disk for use in other applications, or to give you more control over the movies’ quality. It does this through Apple’s QuickTime technology.

On the surface, QuickTime is a great little utility for playing movies on your Mac. I often visit www.apple.com/trailers/ to see which new movie trailer is ready for download—I click a link, and in a few seconds the clip is playing.
