Chapter 5. Deploying IP Phone Services in Cisco Unified Communications Manager
It used to be that a phone was a phone and a PC was a PC, and each was used for a different purpose. In today’s world, those distinctions have blurred and mostly gone away. Your PC can make calls using a softphone application, such as IP Communicator or Cisco Jabber, while some desktop phones can run interactive applications on the phone display. Other endpoints, such as the DX series, are based on the Android operating system to further enhance endpoint functionality.
This chapter discusses the implementation of IP phone services in the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) environment.
