IOMs provide connectivity to individual blade servers through backplane server ports and fabric uplink ports connectivity to the Fabric Interconnect. IOM interface connectivity to blade servers does not require user configuration.
IOM-to-Fabric Interconnect connectivity, however, requires physical cabling.
