At first the CollabOvation team got caught in the trap of doing a lot of entity-relationship (ER) modeling in Java code. They put too much focus on database, tables, and columns, and how those were reflected in objects. That led to a largely Anemic Domain Model [Fowler, Anemic] composed of a lot of getters and setters.
