Managing even a simple release package can turn into a complex project. The most basic business application can have a database management system from vendor A, server operating systems from vendor B, a web server from vendor C, and custom scripts and integration code from your own in-house development team. Each of these vendors and teams operates on an independent schedule, so planning when to create a new release of your business application is a matter of juggling these four schedules to create the right timing.
