Creating an analysis view

As we have seen, there are several dimensions that are not easily accessed by users, especially when the document or the entry has been posted. This is when we need to analyze the data.

Analysis views are specifically meant to access all dimensions in the same easy way, in groups of a maximum of four dimensions at the same time. The four dimension groups may seem like a limitation, but they are not, since we can create as many analysis views as needed, combining all the dimensions we require.

With an analysis view, we can view data from the general ledger. Entries are grouped by criteria, such as:

  • G/L accounts
  • Period
  • Business units
  • Up to four dimensions
