8.1 Introduction: Digital Video Broadcasting to Handhelds
DVB -H technology is designed to use the digital terrestrial TV broadcast infrastructure to deliver multimedia services to mobiles. It can use the same spectrum slots used by digital TV. It has been designed to meet almost all the objectives of delivering a TV service to handhelds, which include:
- Broadcast service reaching potentially unlimited users.
- Delivery of sufficiently large transmitted power so that the mobiles can work even within buildings.
