Now that we’ve covered the basic ingredients of fluid layouts, media queries, and responsive media, we can take a step back and look at how responsive design affects the rest of the process, beginning with planning. Preparation is key, whether you’re marching into battle, running a marathon, or building a responsive site. Building responsively means taking into account the diverse ecosystem of devices. Without proper preparation you’ll find yourself trying to juggle the missing pieces and the quality of your site will suffer significantly. You need a plan.
