I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Sideview Utils
Sideview Utils is a third-party app for Splunk that provides an alternative set of modules for most of what you need to build an interactive Splunk dashboard. These modules remove the complexity of intentions and make it much easier to build forms, make it possible to use variables in HTML, and make it much simpler to handle values between panels and dashboards.
We will use a few of the modules to build forms and link multiple dashboards together based on URL values.
An older but still functional version of SideviewUtils is available through Splunkbase. You can download the latest version from http://sideviewapps.com/, which adds a number of features, including a visual editor to assemble dashboards.
