The In Extremis Leadership Model What It Is, Why It Works, and How to Use It
The idea that dangerous circumstances influence leadership and leader development in unique, specific ways is somewhat novel. At least it has never before been explicated by authors who write about leadership. Intuitively, veterans sometimes comment that as bad as combat was for them, they grew through the process. This chapter directly addresses why people develop as leaders when they are in dangerous settings.
