Equity and power are inextricably entwined. Inclusive conversations must be equitable conversations and thus must consider power.

 

Equity is probably the most important condition for inclusive conversations. You really can’t talk about equity without talking about power. “Equity” is defined as the treatment of people according to what they need and deserve. Equity means everyone has access to the resources, opportunities, and power they need to reach their full potential.
