An important step to consider as you start out on your D&I journey is to, literally, take a step back and truly understand the current position within your organisation from a number of different angles. We have seen many examples where organisations venturing out on the journey of creating a D&I programme do not take the time to really understand their starting point and can end up getting pushed down the route of delivering activity quickly, regardless of what that might be.
