Transmedia is generally defined as the practice of spreading content over multiple delivery channels, such as film, television, mobile devices, books, magazines, online platforms, etc., in order to create a more immersive experience for the audience. This allows the viewers to enter the story-world through multiple media platforms and story “entry points,” expanding on the characters, story, and themes of the main narrative. A transmedia project will usually allow for some level of audience participation and interactivity, whether only to comment and exchange information, or to actively partake and contribute to the project.
