Chapter 7. Defaults & Preferences
Like QuarkXPress, with InDesign you can customize your work environment to reflect your needs. From the way you measure to how your type is set and what size documents you typically produce. InDesign lets you choose how documents should typically be created, displayed and printed.
Page Settings
InDesign has two groups of defaults, we’ll start with page settings that change how a page is created and displayed then we will look at the actual preferences.
Default Page Size
You can define the default page size by closing all documents, and keeping InDesign open and then selecting Document Setup from the File menu. Like with QuarkXPress, most settings made with no documents open will be reflected in all future documents. ...
