Administration of Law and Order
The police is the chief enforcement authority at the disposal of the executive for implementation of its orders. In order to effectively maintain law and order, the police is a strong arm of the government administration, which is responsible for the proper enforcement of the laws of the land. The police is required to act as a custodian of law to preserve the internal order of the society. It is only the police force which can check crimes in the country.
