A THEORY IS ONLY worth something if it can be tested. So how do we go about testing Leader Filtration Theory (LFT)? Since we can’t actually run experiments by taking different kinds of leaders and putting them in charge of different organizations, we’ll need to turn to the historical record to test the theory. Its two most important hypotheses are:

1.Unfiltered leaders are likely to have a high impact.

2.Unfiltered leaders will display more variance in performance than Filtered leaders.
