Ozone
Good ozone, bad ozone! Stratospheric ozone, or “good ozone,” protects life on earth from the harmful effects of the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. Tropospheric ozone, or “bad ozone,” is an air pollutant that affects human health and the environment. Our Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is good up high but bad nearby. Although bad ozone mostly affects air quality in urban air, it may also affect indoor air quality, which may be due to outdoor levels or sources from within a building.
