Daniel Baxter, assistant medical director of an AIDS residential treatment center in the South Bronx, responded to this article in an Op-Ed piece four days later: “In my clinic, which cares for a number of substance-abusers, I have seen many residents ask for the new treatments, and their compliance with pill-taking regimens has often impressed me….
