15.2. Processes and Workflow
It has always been important for an enterprise to manage its business processes. Process change, whether dramatic or subtle, is a common mechanism employed to keep a business efficient and competitive. Any medium to large business is likely to have a comprehensive set of processes that define how it intends to conduct its activities. The definition is needed by companies aiming to achieve quality accreditation to a standard such as the ISO 9000 series. Among other things, these quality standards require an organization to define its processes and to maintain adequate records of their execution.
