The last few years have seen an increase of interest in standards related to business process modeling. This has been fueled partly by the growing use of process modeling by business and partly by the desire of software vendors to establish a prominent position in an expanding market. Three areas are particularly prominent in current standards activity.
Notation. Most process models use some form of diagrammatic presentation of the process design.
