THE FIELD OF BEHAVIORISM IS IMPORTANT to management because it is the basis for most managerial and organizational interventions. In other words, behaviorism is the foundation to address what people do or don’t do in an organization. Now that we have covered legal, technical, and administrative aspects of security management so far in our textbook, we are going to incorporate those into behavioral and social science aspects of security. We will draw upon cutting-edge theory and research because theory and research explain phenomena, and we need to understand what the research says in order to develop targeted and effective managerial solutions and programs in such a rapidly advancing field.
