Understanding the use and structure of modernization scenarios
There are several ways to draft a modernization project plan. One approach involves creating the plan from scratch based on business and IT requirements. This approach requires knowledge of how to apply modernization disciplines within the context of an overall set of requirements; knowledge of the modernization tasks, subtasks, and related project dependencies and deliverables; the ability to derive and apply various metrics to estimating models; a clear concept of role definitions; and an understanding of when to leave out unnecessary tasks while incorporating essential tasks.
