No individual or organization has a monopoly on innovation. Innovation is open to anyone who has the courage and stamina to face the challenges of introducing something new that upsets the status quo. However, the type of organization does affect how the innovator functions and how the organization views the innovator. Established organizations with an established comfort zone and organizational structure view innovation from a more formalized perspective. The independent innovator will view innovation as a matter of life and death, approaching it with total dedication while mortaging assets to their limit and maintaining great hopes for the future.
