Managing innovative technology development in aeronautics: technology assessment (TA) techniques
R. Henke, RWTH Aachen, Germany
Abstract:
Technology assessment (TA) is used to analyse the repercussions of the introduction of a new technology. The effect of a new technology is compared with an existing scenario, and a decision can be made whether the new technology is beneficial. Limitations of the method, application and knowledge are discussed. Examples of applications to technological and economic assessments are given. The role of technology assessment as a support tool is discussed.
