Summary

Microsoft’s path to secure web applications starts with .NET. Application security has become a necessity for developers, and the ease of use of the ASP.NET framework has made working with such security implementations easier. The built-in security features in the Common Language Runtime prevent memory leaks and buffer overflows that are often the major causes of application insecurity—leaving only the entry points to the application as a source for concern. With the security model in ASP.NET, however, developers have a larger set of tools to combat this problem.
