Using Queries
Databases can contain enormous amounts of data. They can be made of dozens of tables, with each table containing hundreds of records, and each record consisting of many fields. The amount of data in a database can be overwhelming.
The goal of any database is to provide a place to organize and store large amounts of information, which you can then query for subsets of data. A query consists of search criteria that you specify. You define the search criterion and run the query, and the query searches the entire database for data that matches the specified criteria.
