Using Viewports

Another important feature to help with your work in 3D is AutoCAD’s ability to simultaneously display more than one model space viewport. In model space, AutoCAD usually displays a single viewport filling the entire drawing area. You can, however, divide the drawing area into several viewports. In model space, these viewports are “tiled” or fit together as adjacent rectangles much like tiles on a floor. Unlike the viewports of paper space discussed in Chapter 19, “Paper Space Layouts,” model space viewports cover the entire screen and do not behave as editable objects. Figure 27.13 shows a 3D drawing with three viewports defined.
