Creating Primitives
AutoCAD 2002 supports six different primitives:
Box
Sphere
Cylinder
Cone
Wedge
Torus
These rather simple solid geometric forms are termed primitives because they can be used in various combinations to produce hundreds of other, more complex solid geometric shapes. Primitives themselves are easy to construct.
Creating a solid box, for example, is as simple as selecting the BOX command from the Solids toolbar, specifying, in turn, the two points that define the opposite corners of the box, and the height. The resulting solid box appears similar to a 3D box created with surfaces. The display of solid objects, however, is quite different in some cases.
