Basic RDP Client Installation

Terminal Server provides clients for the following versions of the Windows operating system:

  • Windows 95/98 (32-bit client)

  • Windows NT 3.51/4.0/2000/XP (32-bit client)

  • Windows for Workgroups 3.11 (16-bit client)

  • Internet Explorer 4.x, 5.x and 6.x (downloadable ActiveX client)

  • Windows CE (downloadable CE client)

The Microsoft Terminal Server client uses the RDP protocol to communicate with the server. Because RDP runs only on top of TCP/IP, you need to have that protocol set up on your clients before installing Terminal Server.
