Troubleshooting RAS and VPN Connections
RAS has been around for a long time and has become increasingly reliable over the years. The most difficult part of setting up RAS is the initial installation. After RAS is set up and working, you can count on long and reliable service. If you are having problems setting up RAS dial-in access, perform the following checks:
Make sure RAS dial-in permission is enabled. This permission is commonly overlooked because it is disabled by default for all users. Users normally get an error message saying that they do not have dial-in permission. Just enable the permission in either User Manager or Active Directory Users and Computers.
