Chapter 24. Advanced Network Management and Monitoring

Any Terminal Server solution has a great reliance on the network. In a Terminal Server environment, the network can be looked upon as an extension to the workstation. The applications that a user runs off of Terminal Server appear as if they are running locally for the user. However, network failures and performance problems are much more critical in a Terminal Server environment than in an environment where users run applications locally. If the network fails, the connection for all Terminal Server users will fail. If the network is slow, all users' connections slow down.
