Okay, we've tossed the word resolution into the discussion of pixels twice so far, and it's time now to provide an explanation of the term…
In Photoshop, the term resolution refers to the number of pixels-per-inch used to portray an image; a high-resolution image contains a lot of pixels, whereas a low-resolution image carries relatively few. Typically, the more pixels in an image, the finer the level of detail the image conveys.
Bitmap Graphics
