This section contains step-by-step details for installing Windows Server 2003 Server from the Windows Server 2003 CD. The steps assume that you are installing on a fresh drive or a drive that has no data you want to preserve. Procedure 1.1 Installing Windows Server 2003 on a New Machine
Start the machine with the bootable CD in the CD-ROM drive. It's a good idea to initiate Setup using a cold start. Some systems are not good about resetting every bit of hardware with a warm boot.
