Paragraph Rules

Paragraph rules are lines that can appear above and/or below a paragraph. If the paragraph moves, the rules follow it, preventing you from having to manually reposition the lines when the text reflows. InDesign’s Paragraph Rules feature is an invaluable tool and should be utilized in any template that calls for rules in its design (Figure 10.26).
