3 Thinking differently about networking
Of course networking doesn't just “work”.
Now there's a surprising comment from me. But it comes from a comment I spotted somewhere, where someone was questioning whether anyone “really gets any business from networking”.
My problem with this statement is that it suggests that networking is just an activity. That if you simply turn up, something will magically happen. You go along, do your 40 seconds, talk to some people and people will buy from you, just because you're a member of the same club.
Networking, like anything else in business, rewards effort. And networking, in and of itself, doesn't deliver business. But it does deliver something else.
